“Paint your pallet blue and gray…” When I was a kid, my mother gave me her jewelry box when she received a new one. It was shiny, black lacquer with a fuzzy, red velvet lining. It was painted with red and gold; a tiny Chinese village. Mid-century Chinoiserie at its finest. It played Starry, Starry Night by Don McLean. It was magical.
